Blogmas | Winter movie animations

I always loved animations and during winter time we have a wide selection from Christmas themed to Winter themed animations. Here is my top 5 wintery animations:

Tinker Bell and The Secret of The Wings

This one is probably my favorite animation set during Winter. Tinker Bell is an iconic character, which I adored ever since I was 10, when I read Peter Pan. I always loved her curiosity and her ability to follow her heart and the way she changes her world a little step at a time.
Also, I loved the sister relationship portrayed in this movie and how blood is thicker than water. As always the friendship between all the fairies, their care for their community and how they stand up to face whatever comes their way, lessons we should never forget.

❄ Rise of the Guardians

Rise of the Guardians is all about the quote "Seeing isn't believing, believing is seeing" and the struggle between good and evil. A majestic animations, with all of our favorite childhood characters: Easter Bunny, Jack Frost, Santa, Tooth Fairy and Sandy - the Guardian of Dreams.

 Frozen

Frozen, who hasn't seen the movie or heard the hit song Let it go? Even though it isn't one of my favorite Disney movies (nothing can beat Tangled) I would like to say that Olaf and Sven are absolutely adorable!

  Happy Feet

I know that during December North pole gets all the attention, but what about the South Pole? I mean penguins are so sweet and funny and have the most amazing way of walking! There is even a dance called the Penguin Dance, you can't compete with that!

 Snow Queen

This story is about an orphan girl with magical powers who reconnects with her brother, she didn't even know she had. And as you can imagine there are a series of adventures that take place in a magical, frozen land!

These are my favorite animations set in Winter.

Enjoy!

Blogmas | Christmas Illustrations

Christmas is the time when your inner child comes to life and you tend to see things in a more joyful and playful light, when your imagination sparks like fireflies. These illustrations are the proof of that!

Blogmas | Prepare your boots for Saint Nick

In a few countries like Romania or Belgium, Santa Claus has to share December with another white-bearded man, who gives gifts to those who are nice, but also to those who aren't.

And his name is Saint Nicholas. And on the 5th of December is Saint Nicholas Eve.

We celebrate his birthday on the 6th of December and on this evening he walks with his white horse over our rooftops and leaves presents for all the children that were good that year. And for those who were naughty he leaves them a branch, well to be fair it is actually a whip or a rod, as you may call it. And he leaves the presents in your boots, so on the 5th everyone polishes their shoes.

Saint Nicholas isn't as wealthy as Santa Clause, and he generally leaves fruits or smaller toys. It is believed that he helped women and children in need. And his story began when he helped a few sisters, leaving them golden coins so that they can get married and start a better life.

And, to be fair, when I was little the only distinction, in my imagination, between Santa and St Nick was that St Nick was thin. I even liked drawing pictures of them both, with white beards and red suits.

What did St Nick leave in your boots? And if you don't celebrate St Nick, you might want to reconsider that and start a new "tradition"!

Christmas Countdown: The Snowman (1982) -- Short film

There's nothing quite like a Christmas short animation movie to get you in a festive and cheerful mood. One of my favorites is the 1982 Snowman, with a beautiful cinematography and amazing, soothing music.

Hope it will snow where you are so that you can make a snowman!

Hope you are having a joyful time!
